Is he hinting that he likes me?? Acting weirder than usual.. Only 11?
Sunshine Asked: Is he hinting that he likes me?? Acting weirder than usual.. Only 11?
There's this boy in my class that I've known only since September when school started.
He is the sweetest thing you could imagine with an awesome personality along with it.
I get the feeling that he likes me almost everytime I'm around him.
Things that make me suspicious:
talks to me and ignores other people when we sit by eachother
says the weirdest things, Example: (we're locker partners) he comes to our locker and says "I hope I have turkey!" in the weirdest voice " turkeys brings me joy!"
try's to carpool with his brother and my brother (to get with me I think)
convinces me to play wall ball with him even if its just the two of us
I'm only 11 and my mom already knows I have a crush on him and she thinks it's "cute" and says "he's a good kid" and that "he's respectful to me! I love it!"
We also have so much in common (soccer, old parents, 2 brothers, brown hair, blue eyes, smart in the common sense way, etc.)
Does he like me?

Adopting a child from Bangladesh as a dual citizen – international adoption agency needed?
icarus Asked: Adopting a child from Bangladesh as a dual citizen – international adoption agency needed?
I am a single man who was born in Canada to parents who immigrated from Bangladesh. I am qualified to get a "dual nationality certificate" from Bangladesh, which would legally establish my Bangladeshi citizenship. http://www.bdcgny.org/dual_nationality/dual_nationality.htm
I am currently still in school (a master's program) but I am almost done and am making some long term plans for a future family. For justifiable personal reasons, I have decided to someday adopt a child as a single parent (maybe within a common-law union). As a strong personal preference, I would like to adopt a child from Bangladesh, possibly from a relative who is unable to take care of his/her child, if such a scenario arises.
Normally, a Canadian citizen would have to go through an international adoption agency to make an inter-country adoption. However, that costs tens of thousands of dollars and involves a complex process.
If I obtain Bangladeshi citizenship, can I just go there and adopt a child of my choice locally through mutual agreement with the parent(s) and using local Bangladeshi adoption procedures, and then bring the child to Canada? According to my research, I can apply for the adopted child to get his/her citizenship this way, and then he or she is eligible to immigrate to Canada this way after acquiring a Canadian passport. This is based on new laws that came out in 2009. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/adoption/differences.asp
However, I'm still unsure if I need to go through an international adoption agency, which involves many procedures including a home study and big expenses. It wouldn't really make sense if I had to, seeing as I am (would be) a Bangladeshi citizen adopting a Bangladeshi child.. it should no longer qualify as intercountry adoption, from the way I see it.
I've read a few similar stories/anecdotes on the internet with mixed or inconclusive outcomes or predictions.
I know this is a complicated issue — any help/advice/stories would be much appreciated (by more people than myself, I'm sure).
Many thanks, in advance.

I want to quit… my life? My parents dont care about me.?
Julie Asked: I want to quit… my life? My parents dont care about me.?
I am currently in middle school, and a girl said I am kind of a nerd. I have been bullied for the last weeks, and I told my mother but she said I am doing everything wrong. Shes too scared to protect me from this bully. This bully sits next to me in class, and my dad emailed my teacher to make him change seats. My teacher got mad at me from making him look bad because my parents think he doesn't care about bullies. He told my parents that I am not trying hard in his English class, and that I am doing the bare minimum. Are you kidding me?! I wrote a 6 page story to him while everyone wrote up to 2 pages, and I type my papers that end up really long! Do you think I am called a nerd fornothing? My mother is mad at me. I told her what she would feel if I commit suicide. She just said that it would make her look like a bad parent, but nothing about how she would miss me.
I heard that some people cheated life, how they went through surgery and was dead for less than a minute. They said they saw a white room, and everything was beautiful. They saw themselves in a mirror and stuff, and everything was at peace. I am guessing this was suppose to be heaven?
I want to go there, rest in peace and be happy for the rest of my life.
I have no real friends. Just a bully, careless parents, and a teacher that officially hates me, and is going to give me B's for the rest of my life.
Why? ;(

Dad doesn’t believe in my dreams to become an actress?
Snowflake774 Asked: Dad doesn’t believe in my dreams to become an actress?
I really want to become an actress. This isn't just a phase I have wanted this for almost 4 years now.
My mum supports me. I can tell her about different open castings I want to try out for and she will listen, sometimes even add stuff into the conversation. I will tell my dad however and he will give this big over exasperated sigh. When I first told him I wanted to become an actress he told me I wasn't even good at it, even though I had gotten straight A+'s in Drama. I asked him weither he thought I should go to drama classes, he said there was no point because he has a friend who is an actor and he doesn't get work.
Whats even more annoying is that he always goes on about how parents should support there kids dreams because his parents didn't support his dreams to be a professional guitarist and he did and was a back up guitarist for Jamiroqui and worked with the Gorrillas. He also completely supports my brother in becoming a soccer player for West Ham. I asked weither he thought my bro could make it proffessionally and he said of course.
I have a friend who also wants to be an actress and her parents are so supportive they got her top end NIDA classes for both Camera acting and stage, got her a really good agent and take her to many castings.
I don't expect my parents to do all that for me but at least it shows that her parents are supportive of her and actually think she can do it. I got the same marks as her in drama at school so why are her parents so supportive and my dad actually sigh when I metion the fact I want to do acting as a proffession?
How do you think I can convince him that I am up to it. I do know how hard it is but I am ready to try.
Or how do you think I should deal with it?
Thank

How do I tell my parents I want to switch to a different University degree?
Fernando Asked: How do I tell my parents I want to switch to a different University degree?
I'm a 21 year old male. Currently studying a Business with Accounting Bachelors Honours Degree in England (I won't say which Uni). I hold 280 UCAS points. Furthermore, after thinking about it deeply for the last month, I intend to study an English Language & Communication Bachelors Honours Degree from September via an Internal Transfer.
Now here's the problem. I hate the degree I'm doing. In the back of my head, I only chose to do this degree because I've always been too afraid to stand up to my Dad and tell him that I wish to make MY own decisions myself, and that I'm no longer a kid. He doesn't exactly MAKE me do business, but if I told him that I wanted to study media for example, he'd just tell me something like "no, forget it, media is not a good degree", and go onto emphasise every single possible reason why I should do Accounting (i.e. good job opportunities).
Now, you might be thinking, "for goodness sake, you're 21, why don't you just man up". But, it's not that easy. My Dad is Nigerian, and he used to beat me as a child whenever I misbehaved, thus consequently, I'm actually scared of him – though I don't really show it. (Laugh if you will, but I'm very serious).
My Dad and Mum don't pay my fees as I'm supported by a student loan. I'm meant to be revising for my 3 remaining modular exams as I type, but I can't even bring myself to do it. Normally, when I dislike something, I still try and do my best (e.g. Science in Secondary School). But Accounting is a whole different kettle of fish – I just hate it so much that I'm probably already on my way to failing this first semester (only passed 2 out of 7 modules so far).
And to add insult to injury, if by some miracle I managed to stand up to my Dad (My Mum is not a problem), and by some miracle he approved of my plans, and also the course tutor accepts me…I'll have to pay roughly 250% higher tuition fees than what I would have paid if I was applying this time last year (all fees go up in the UK from 2012).
I'm actually living away from home for the first time (since January), and thus, I'd be having more time to study. But how do I motivate myself to study for something I hate doing (Rhetorical).
I'm aware of the fact that by transferring to a different degree, I've essentially thrown nearly 9000 out the window (student loan), and wasted a WHOLE year, not to mention the fact that everyone in my life will think of me as a layabout. But at the same time I know I just can not continue any longer. I don't want to be miserable for the next 50 years of my life doing something I hate – but I just can't muster up the courage to face my Dad.
I'm 100% sure of this, as I've spent the last 1 month thinking about it thoroughly. I just want some advice and encouragement, if any. Please.

Parenting: Have you’ve ever gotten a ticket in front of your kids?
The Universe Asked: Parenting: Have you’ve ever gotten a ticket in front of your kids?
After my nephews game tonight some Fountain Valley cop was seemingly following us. It was just my nephew who is 9 in the backseat and me. I was trying not to swerve or make mistakes lol. We live in Anaheim Hills and when we get off on our exit, so does he. I'm like "this isn't even his jurisdiction anymore." And my nephew says "I know, this fool is just a vigilante at this point." LMFAO I was dying. Finally we made a turn that he didn't. It was weird though. After the freeway exit there was 4 turns he made with us before he finally stopped. I think he was following us. But I'm glad I didn't get pulled over in front of my nephew. Have you ever gotten one? How did your kids react? Did they laugh at you?

Girls, what some signs that a quiet/reserved girl likes you?
Geuis Asked: Girls, what some signs that a quiet/reserved girl likes you?
We're both 17 year old juniors in high school. This girl is beautiful, but she is pretty quiet and reserved, so I have the hardest time reading her. I think she likes me, but I just cannot tell for sure. We're really good friends, and hang out all the time together (alone) and get along great. We've gone to eat together several times (she even asked me if I wanted to go to lunch with her last Saturday), and she comes to a lot of college baseball games with me because we're both huge baseball fans. She's never actually turned down one of my offers to hang out together, and never said anything about it being just us two somewhere. I really want to tell her my feelings for her, but I guess I want a little reassurance that I'm reading her right.
All of our mutual girl friends know I like her (and she obviously has figured this out as well) and are all telling her how perfect we'd be for each other and how cute we'd be. One of my girl friends said she is kind of overwhelmed/embarrassed by all the attention this is creating, and just tells everyone she doesn't like me in that way and we're just really good friends, however the girl her friends see isn't the same girl I see when we're alone. All her friends and her parents adore me, so I know they're in her ear in support of me. I don't want to sound creepy, but because I really, really care deeply about this girl, I want to get it right with her, so I've done my research on her to try to figure out her history so I don't make the same mistakes her past boyfriend made so I've talked to our mutual girl friends and my best guy friend is actually her basically life-long best guy friend, so I've talked to him about it. I've even done a little Facebook check and she really seems to act differently around/towards me than she does with other guys. I'm the only guy she hangs out alone with, I know this. She also gives me ":)" sometimes in texts, and they said the only time she's ever done that was to her old boyfriend. Like I said, she knows I like her, but hasn't backed off and is still more than happy to be with me alone. Nothing has changed in our relationship (for the worse, at least). I've been a little more "aggressive" in my texts and calls lately, and she hasn't seemed deterred by it.
So what are some signs that a quiet and reserved girl like you?
Thank you for reading!
